In July 2015, Alessandro Merlino took on the role of Senior Vice President Business Partner People & Transformation Italy at Gruppo Lottomatica and is responsible for all key processes in HR. He has matured a solid background in HR covering several different roles in various international companies.

During the last 11 years, he has acquired a vast knowledge on regulated markets. From 2006 – 2015 he held the role of HR Director in Bristol Myers Squibb, in this role he was a member of both the Regional HR Leadership team EMEA and the European Working Council. He has participated to European Projects on Change Management, Project Management and Performance Management.

Between 1988 – 2006 he held various roles in Johnson & Johnson including HR Director Italy & EMEA, head of HR Italy  (commercial & manufacturing) and was a member of the Regional Demand fulfilment Leadership team.

Alessandro has a degree in law from Sapienza University and an MBA from the University of Tor Vergata, Rome.
