<p>My goal in HR is to restructure the business environment so it represents our new digital culture – a culture that has been changed by interconnectivity of the web an the constantly evolving technology. We need to respond to this new world in all the HR processes – from hiring to organizational structure, performance review, career development, talent recruitment and retention.</p>
<p>Degrees in Economics and Psychology, both of which help on the job in understanding the business as well as the people side of management.</p>
<p>Currently – HR in Banking Sector</p>

<li>Managing the cultural integration after two recent mergers with two banks</li>
<li>Redirecting the bank’s balance between the customer journey and the complexity of regulations in the finance sector</li>
<li>Negotiating the bonus system with the bank and unions so bonuses are aligned with performance and collaboration. (This is part of an overall plan, described below)</li>
<li>Developing a new mindset and approach to transition the bank into the 21st century economy and to changes in the pipeline.</li>

<li>Established quality standards per country in Volkswagen’s international training program of three international training</li>

<p>His professional career has developed through three main areas: development and learning, organizational changes, HR management.<br />
Development and learning represents a constant feature of his background, ranging from designing and implementing innovative learning solutions to the creation of focused pipelines of ready now leaders.<br />
Organizational changes area includes merge, reorganization, restructuring, but also process redesign and organizational effectiveness initiatives.<br />
In terms of HR management, as HRBP and HR manager, he tries to ensure proximity to the business, understand it and better serve it.</p>
<p>He aims to combine and integrating business needs with people’s “talents” to make the organization effective. He has a forward-looking vision and a great passion for people.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In July 2015, <strong>Alessandro Merlino</strong> took on the role of Senior Vice President Business Partner People &amp; Transformation Italy at Gruppo Lottomatica and is responsible for all key processes in HR. He has matured a solid background in HR covering several different roles in various international companies.</p>
<p>During the last 11 years, he has acquired a vast knowledge on regulated markets. From 2006 – 2015 he held the role of HR Director in Bristol Myers Squibb, in this role he was a member of both the Regional HR Leadership team EMEA and the European Working Council. He has participated to European Projects on Change Management, Project Management and Performance Management.</p>
<p>Between 1988 – 2006 he held various roles in Johnson &amp; Johnson including HR Director Italy &amp; EMEA, head of HR Italy  (commercial &amp; manufacturing) and was a member of the Regional Demand fulfilment Leadership team.</p>
<p>Alessandro has a degree in law from Sapienza University and an MBA from the University of Tor Vergata, Rome.</p>
